Absolutely. Consistency is key here and everyone in the family should have an opportunity to learn and train with your pup. Training together teaches everyone to be on the same page.

Puppies are like a sponge and are learning from the moment they are born. Basic manners training should start between ages 7 and 14 weeks. Formal obedience training starts in many states at 4 months of age. The puppies are eager to learn at this age and their brains are particularly responsive to learning and retaining new experiences. Puppies enjoy having the one on one attention and keeping training sessions short and sweet goes a long way toward building confidence.
Obedience training with your dog builds communication between you and your pooch and builds up confidence in your dog. Dogs need structure and leadership, like children, to feel secure. Training also helps prevent and solve many behavorial problems. If your dog is well trained you are able to trust him more with strangers, children and new situations. This will allow you and your dog to have the confidence to go more places together.
